people say the craziest things
At Costco today a woman asked me if Karsten is an albino. I informed her that albinos have no pigment and have pink eyes and that my son is definitely NOT an albino. Still she then said again, "sure looks like an albino to me."

You know, I think something happens when people shop at Costco (and also the fabric store). Probably perfectly reasonable people regress intellectually and lose any spacial ability. Don't get me wrong...I love Costco and lots of fabric stores, but these are the most irritating places to shop in terms of your fellow shopper. What's up with that?! And what stupid remarks have I made while sampling frozen potstickers and pizza-on-a-stick?

no, no, it's not the shopping location, it's the kid factor. If you have a kid it somehow removes the barrier of what people feel they can say.
For instance, when Karsten was first born I carried him across the street to check the mail. It was 85 degrees outside and I had his head in the shade of my arm. A neighbor said "you really should have a hat on him." WHAT?! I couldn't believe it.

How dare anyone call my perfect blonde, blue-eyed nephew an albino! Maybe that lady who works at Costco never gets to see the outside world...not to mention Scandinavia!!! Well, he is just so strikingly beautiful, that some people don't know what to make of him, I guess! Well, I hope you have a good day Jana...I am gearing up for my internet dream date week, which begins on Saturday! I will keep you posted!
