Britta: 11 month report

The fact that I'm typing "11 months" means that next I'll be typing ONE YEAR! How can this be? It makes me immediately want to jump out of this rat race I call my life and watch Britta grow inch by inch.

Britta notes

- Britta's palette rivals, if not tops her brother's in variety. She had a bagel and cream cheese for breakfast, along with some cheese and sausage strata. The other night for dinner she had a bit of pesto with us and minus the wine Andy and I were drinking she ate the same meal as us.

- Britta can go almost anywhere her hands and knees will take her. She is trying to climb too and regularly at 4am is using our wrought iron bed frame as her climbing wall. Wouldn't it be cool to get her a baby harness so she can really scale a wall so I can go back to sleep and not worry about her?

- Britta is showing her preference in toys. She likes all the musical instruments. When they are turned on she gets a groove on. I'd say she has more rhythm than her mommy! She has also developed an interest in Karsten's train table. He likes to tell me, "Mommy, put Britta in her crib" as he tries to swat her away from destroying part of the track.

- Britta is a water baby. She could spend hours in the bath tub splashing around. She doesn't even mind when her big brother dumps a bucket of water over her head. She just blinks the water away and keeps playing.

- And probably the most exciting news, she can wave bye-bye and even say something that might sort of sound like "bye bye."

- She weighs 18lbs with her diaper on. She's had to go back to the doctor several times to have her ears checked. When Andy came back from Hong Kong her ear drum had ruptured. Ouch. My fingers are crossed that her ears will stay clear until the cold season next winter.
