Happy 1st Birthday Britta!

Britta is one today! I had to work today so yesterday was the day I chose to celebrate. We had a family celebration in the evening where I must say I was overly giddy while decorating with pink roses, bows and tulle. The big question: did she go for the cake? Well, not really. She sampled but no big plunge of cake devouring. More a dainting tasting with a smidge in her hair. She took the whole singing and being the center of attention with an air of seriousness and quiet dignity.

Earlier in the day I wanted to do something a little more mellow so I could enjoy her special day without having to play hostess. We went to the Rainforest Cafe for lunch with my mom and grandma. The waitress brought Britta a sundae with a candle and the staff sang happy birthday to her. I found a little Space Needle/Seattle charm for her charm bracelett and a beautiful Babar birthday book.

What a happy day.

*Note, my new digital camera broke right as the party started! Grrrrrrr. Grouchy mama bear. I'll have to wait to develop my film before I have any photos to post.
