Going private

Bad news. For the Karsten and Britta photo fans you'll now have to have a Flickr account and be my friend or family to see their photos.

Some weirdo marked a bunch of our family photos as favorites and that was just not cool.

Mom, Dad, if you need help setting up a Flickr account I'm here to help.

yeah, it's annoying to have to do this but the alternatives are, like you said, just not cool. i'm with ya on this one.

the biggest bummer is that the pics won't show up in the RSS feed anymore, but I can live with that. I wish flickr let you authenticate to get private photos in the feeds, but.. meh. maybe I should write a webservice to do that.

I'm glad you're taking steps to protect your privacy. I've always been very concerned how much personal information you put out onto the Internet. I know because of my job I have a pessimist's outlook, but still... there are freaks out there.

That is absolutely the right thing to do. We had someone "blogstalk" us one night - kept calling over and over about Liam, it really freaked us out. It's too bad because FLICKR is such a great tool to keep people passively in touch, but then again, it's the Internet and the freaks are abound.
