Dear kind thief

Dear kind thief,
Thank you for dropping my lost wallet in a mailbox with only $5 of the $70 I had in my wallet. Thank you for leaving the Starbucks gift card I was hoarding for that day I really needed a mocha. Thank you for not trying to steal my identity and screw up my credit for years to come. Thank you for relieving me of only half of my change. My wallet was getting quite heavy. Thank you for saving me so much money in the last week. After my experience of taking my passport and getting out a large amount of cash I carefully spent every dollar because I didn't want to go back to the bank.

Hurray, I have my Costco card back! My grocery cards are back! My hideous id too.

I'm glad to know the world is full of semi-honest people. I can sleep a little better tonight. And shop a little better tomorrow with all of my shiny new credit cards.
