Volunteer Remorse
Andy came home from the Shoreline Management Council meeting tonight.
A: Guess who is the chairman of the committee?
Me: You?
A: Yep.
Me: What? You are way too busy. What are you thinking?
Later I returned home from the PTA meeting at K's school....
Me: Guess who is the new PTA secretary?
------------
What is wrong with us?
Wait, don't answer that.

But this ties in perfectly with your goal of having opinions and making them heard. Bravo! Thanks for doing what needs to be done.

Ah ha, I know about this phenomenon. In the moment, everything seems so doable and important/fun-ish, and then right afterwards reality sets in. I think I'm better at not over-participating than I used to be, or maybe its that I'm not in as many of those situations anymore.

Yeah, I figured if I'm going to volunteer for anything the place where my kids are being educated is the most important place. I saw this coming a long time ago.

Yeah, this is how I keep getting stuck on boards, despite have zero free time. I get a lot of the "If not you, then who else could do it?" Argh.
